Pushti maarg samprada Chief Sri Maha Prabhu Vallabhacharya came to Vrindavan. He was looking for a place to hold the Bhagvat katha. He found Banshivat to be the most pure and decided to have the Bhagvat katha here.
Some say that the first darshan of ShreeNathji he found here at Banshivat.
His many disciples – Surdas. Meerabai, Kumbhandas, Nanddas ……. Visited this place and have described it in their books.
It also finds mention in the Chaitanya Charitamrit.

“Sri man ras rasambhi Banshivat tat stitha
Karsan venu swnsav gopri Gopinath sriya stuna”.

In the 15th century, there was a sage from Nimbark sampradaya, named Ghamand Dev Acharya, who lived in a village Kahmai, near Govardhan. He started the Raas leela on stage. He was a great devotee of Radha Krishn. Ras Bihari was very pleased and gave their crown to him and said, “You spread our Raas leela all over the world for the rasik bhakt”.
When he decided to start performing, the first raas was played here on Banshivat, as this is the original sthal as mentioned in all the scriptures related to Vrindavan and Shree Krishn’s leelas.
Every Ras Acharya sings this pad at the beginning of the raas leela.

“Aaj Gopal liye Brij baal
Raas rachyo Banshivat chhayia”.

Since then till 1970, raasleela has been performed here. It was supported by the kings and the various landlords. Since independence the sponsors stopped and the mandir had to stop the leela also, because of lack of funds.
In 1820, a great sage, Girdhari Sharn Dev acharya took the worship of this mandir in his hand. He was a great devotee and served Ras Bihari with a lot of bhao. This pleased the Divine and Radha Ras Bihari gave Their footprints to him.

The same foot prints are being served by the present mahants.

Details about the divine Banshivat : as provided by the owner-pujaris of this divine place.

“Brindavan so van nahi, Nandgaon so gaon
Banshivat so vat nahin, Shree Krishn naam so naam”.

‘Gopika shat kati bhi Raas leela vibhu sith
Banshi Rav sama keerm Banshivat namo stute”.

“Brindavane vate banshi, praoage maoarath:
Gayanya akshay khyat, kalpastu Purushottume||
Nishkumbh: khal lankaya, eategha panch gha vat:
Eaitesu vat mulesu, sada nivsati makhav”|

Shree Krishn Played His flute often under this Vat. Banshi means the flute;

Vat means the Banyan tree.
Banshivat is the spot where the Divine couple spent a lot of time.

ShreeKrishn played the Maha Raas here on the Sharad Purnima night.
Even Shivji from Mount Kailash came here on this very spot to witness this leela of Thakurjee. Being a male He first had to take the form of a gopi from Shree Yamunajee. As He entered the place, Krishn recognized Him instantly – hence gave Him the name of Gopeshwar. The story continues how Radha became angry; she accused Krishn of calling a new gopi by the name of Gopeshwar, which means – the Lord of gopis. All these years He had never ever called Radha by this name. Then Shyam had to explain the details to Her. “This is no ordinary gopi. He is Lord Shiv and He has come all the way to see the Maharaas leela with a pure and sattvik gopi bhao.
This is the spot where many famous leelas of Radha and Shyam along with the gopis took place.

 A small temple of Gopeshwar is also on one corner of the main court, inside the Banshivat.
Another reason for being famous is Shree Krishn’s victory over Kaam Dev at this spot.

This place has been founded by the Acharya of Nimbark sampradaya-Shri Nivasachary;

for the good of devotees.
After him Sri Sri Bhatt Dev served this place, and did bhajan for many years; also wrote a book named ‘Yugal Shatak’. Because of this; the mention of this place is in every Nimbark book. He is believed to have painted the Pichvai also, which shows the Raas leela, and is hung behind the Charan.
Earlier to this the Deities were worshipped here in this small temple, which were replaced by the seva of the charan. The idolsare now shifted to the larger temple in the same compound of BAnshivat, which was built by King Oyal (from Lucknow) in the 1900’s.

“Jai Brindavan Jai Yamuna,
Jai Banshi Vat, Jai Pulina”.

Banshivat is important for the Godiyas also. When Chaitanya Mahaprabhu visited Brindavan, He first came to Banshivat. He served this place; before departure from Vrindavan he handed over this place to his disciples Madhu Pandit Goswami and Parmanand Goswami.
Once when Madhu Pandit was sweeping this place, he saw a flute in root of this tree. When he dug deeper the Deity Radha Gopinath appeared from here. Unfortunately during the reign of Aurangzeb this Deity had to be shifted to Jaipur for safety.
Parmanand Goswami served here and established Radha Ras Bihari here.
Since then many famous devotees have come here to continue their sadhana.

Govind, the older brother, was asked to make certain arrangements for the 6th morning in terms of purity and cleanliness. The entire area would be covered with sweet smelling mogra flowers. New paushak was made for the pichwai. This pichwai is a rasleela painting done several years back by Sri Sri Bhatt Dev and has a very enchanting look about it.

On the 06.08.06 the resthapan of the Energies is done in total shuddhi bhao. The proper mahurat is fixed. We have kept a complete fast till late afternoon; as when we reach our ashram after the work is over a shower is required only after which can we take even water or tea. It is total shuddhi that needs to be kept and maintained all through the pujan. My red bandhini saree is also newly purchased in the right mahurat for this pujan. With Gurushree perfect discipline is an essential aspect in all areas.
The mandir looks so pretty and pure. The entire area is washed and decorated with fragrant flowers. There is joy and anand in the air and bliss within. I feel special and blessed today. The vibrancy and magnetism gets in me and as the pujan comes towards completion I do not wish this day and moment to ever end. I wish to trap the joyful feelings of the moment in me forever.
This closeness which I feel with the Divine, with ShreeNathji is amazing; I thank Him for His kripa that has allowed me to enter and feel this bliss in the heart and soul.
There have not been too many invitations for this ceremony as the purity around needs to be maintained at the maximum. So the ceremony is kept very simple and sacred.
There are only 5 very lucky people present here today as a witness to the heavenly event along with the 4 brothers and their family. Though a few more people were invited, they were not able to be here for various reasons.
There is Sanjay who has supervised the progress of the entire work for 45 days. Though being a quality supervisor at our Eta factory was selected for this Thakurjee’s work. “I feel very blessed and lucky to have been a part of this mandir work, I have never stayed in Vrindavan ever for more then a couple of days; it is God’s kripa that I lived here for 45 days , its amazing how I came here to be a part of the divine work”. He felt a sense of satisfaction; Who is selected to be a part of some leela is all His Kripa.
The second person is Sharmajee who works at our Eta factory as the unit head. He has been involved in some ways with the work and came for darshans today.
Another lucky person was Alkaji who is the wife of Dineshbhai’s close friend at Delhi. She also met me accidentally in the ashram and because was keen to see the mandir was invited by Gurushree to be there on 6th morning, though could not be present for the resthapan pujan.

All looked very happy and there is a sense of satisfaction and jubilation around. Later many local bhakts came for darshan and were very happy at the feeling of purity that day all around.

This sthapan that Gurushree does is very different from how it is normally done in all other places of worship. It does not require any havans or rituals or pandits to call out to the Divine Shaktis. The Divine Urjas-Shaktis of KrishnRadha and ShreeNathji are in direct connection to Gurushree and need only a deep loving invitation from him to return here in Their newly constructed Home, at Their original sthal. In an instant The Shaktis enter Their original sthan and give blessings.
In fact the brothers said how they did feel the emptiness when demolition started. “It felt as if a member of our family had left us. It felt as if the Urjas from our mandir had gone away. Now it all feels normal again after you have done the Pran pratishta”. “Our mandir feels filled up again”.
We all know how powerful “They” are and could only be handled by one who was very close and highest in his bhao and purity.
I feel different today. It’s like being on another level of myself. I do not think I have ever felt this satisfaction and bhao which I experience today here at the mandir.

I thank God, the divine Shreeji and divine KrishnRadha and my Gurushree for letting me be an intimate part of this divine, sacred experience!

It is exactly one year later on the 8.06.2006, that we are able to visit Vrindavan again. This time all the necessary arrangements are made for the construction. The present structure has to be demolished for it to be constructed rightly. Important is the shila on which the sacred Charan (foot prints) are present. These cannot be left here during the demolition as the people working would not maintain the right purity. The next best thing is to keep the total Urjas safely somewhere else; then once the mandir structure is completed They could be returned to the original place.

So gurushree invited the Shakti of KrishnRadha to move out and kept Them in safety, during the construction period. The construction work would disturb the Shakti extensively; hence the decision to keep them in purity somewhere else was taken by gurushree. He had taken a “sankalp”  to complete the entire work in six weeks ie 45 days, as per ShreeNathji’s order; it would be difficult to maintain the Shaktis away from Their home for a longer period. Also the 45 days target was kept as Gurushree needed two Ashtmi, two Poonam, one Amavasya for completing all work successfully.
The structure plan was finalized and the contractor explained how to carry out the work. With this construction the Purified Charan would be safe for the next 2000 years at least.

As per the sankalp taken, the structure was completed in exactly 45 days with perfection, from demolition, to order of the marble at Makrana and the rebuilding. This is amazing, the work went smoothly without any delay; it included Sanjay and Govinds visit to Makrana for selection and buying the marble, which has to be of the highest quality. It then was all carved perfectly according to the design given and transported to Vrindavan. Once the ready carved marble came here, the demolition was done and the entire structure remade. The Shila is replaced in its perfect place.
As per our plan we returned in August once the structure was complete.
On 5th evening at around 4.30pm which was the 44th day, we visited the mandir and the charan shila to check if all was in place and complete in perfection.
The structure looks heavenly in pure white and I can feel this longing again, this feeling of belonging which I feel repeatedly at many places in Vrindavan. In fact looking at their pictures also is enough to evoke this sense of belonging and longing; this deep, deep connection and attraction I feel within; at times have the over whelming need to be in Vrindavan. This is my home, it is where I belong! Here at Banshivat today this attraction is very strong and I can feel held by the Divine vibrations.
“Do you know it is your birthday today”? Gurushree surprised me while taking pictures of the completed structure. “Of course not you are mistaken, my birthday is yet 11 days ahead” I replied, wondering how he could forget. Gurushree as usual laughed and said, “It is 5th August 2006 Shravan Sukla (Sud) Ekadashi, today and is your birthday as per thithi, which actually is the real birth day according to the moon horoscope, so rejoice, because it is on your birthday that this mandir is finally ready”.

I felt overjoyed at this revelation; imagine the entire arrangement made by God Himself. It is a huge grace from ShreeNathji that He let this happen. Without the kripa of the Divine all could not have taken place in perfect coordination. This seemed like the golden day in my life where God has graced me with accepting my sewa and rewarding me such joy and happiness in perfect sequence!

The pictures as we saw them later at the ashram were amazing. As gurushree Sudhir bhai explained; “I entered the mandir from above the gate-as seen in the pictures also, merged with the KrishnRadha energies inside. The Divine energies from inside had been invited by me to come out and show Themselves”. “This shows in the pictures, the auras come out and enter all present there. This was necessary; to show Their Presence”.
This is also possible only with the right Divine permissions, and the purity and bhao of gurushree himself. It requires the highest purity to be able to visit the Divine auras – The original Shakti of KrishnRadha. It is Their grace that we have been allowed to take pictures.
As gurushree said, “It is Shreeji’s Divine order that the mandir be rebuilt and completed in the least of time. The Shaktis also wish that Their mandir is remade and purified. They communicated Their wish to me and gave Their permission to show Their Presence and record the pictures in our camera;this also proves Their trust in me”. With gurushree’s pure powers and intentions all was possible. One cannot play around with the Live Urjas and Shaktis of KrishnRadha or ShreeNathji.
Unless the human has the required purity and bhao the powers will not communicate or make any human a mediator for Their works. When gurushree informed Them that the owners would not agree to demolish the structure, They agreed to give some Divine Anubhuties so that the owners would be convinced about the pure intentions of gurushree.

This convinced the family that gurushree Sudhir bhai is not wrong in anything and we got the required permission from them to redo the main structure of the “Charan temple”. This also helped to increase the bhao of the locals, as these high Shaktis need purity of the highest surroundings to flow totally. With this divine experience they may want to keep the mandir better maintained.

The various “divya anubhuties” of the five people participating are as follows:

Govind – Eldest brother -27 years – married-M.A in English.
“Guruji had instructed us to be looking at one spot anywhere. I concentrated on one round spot on the gate design. (This gate has Radhe written in hindi all over). Suddenly after 15-20 minutes the gate began to shine. I kept on staring at the shinning circle, which grew larger. Soon the door disappeared and only the circle of light was visible. It began to shine and in spite of no light I could see a strange chamak (shine) on the spot which grew larger and became brighter. There was constant prakash (bright light) on the area. Soon I could not see anything else – the prakash grew larger and everything else disappeared”.
“Then the child began to cry”….

Upendra- 26 years-Finished doing his B.A.
“We were told to stare at one point. I looked straight at guruji. Behind him was the mandir gate. Suddenly all around him I saw a circle moving. Different colours were there. It looked as if guruji was covered by a meghdhanush (rainbow). It seemed as though all these colors of the rainbow were coming out from him. I could see his face very slightly; the rest of his aakruti (outline of the body) was covered in these colors”. “I got the feeling that all the power was within guruji and was coming out through him. Then the child began to cry and my dhyan (concentration) broke”.

Gajendra – 20 years – doing B.Sc final.
“Guruji had instructed us to be concentrating on any one spot. I focused behind guruji at the mandir door. After sometime, the whole area became dhundla (foggy) like kohara (mist) spread every where. Guruji’s and your aakriti (forms) became enveloped in this fog. Both of you disappeared, and only the forms were visible. It was a very vishesh anubhuti (special experience). I have never seen anything like this before. It felt like some very light roshni – tej (bright powerful light) was there behind the whole fog, which looked like a cloud. Sab kuch usmen sama gaya. (Everything merged into this fog). Then the child began to cry and guruji told us to become normal”.

Kaustubh – 18 years – doing 12th std.
Guruji told us to focus on one spot. I stared at the name Radhe on the main door, behind guruji. I saw a circle form around the whole Radhe name. This circle expanded, and there was something like surya kiran (sun rays), not as bright; come out of the circle, out of the name. Charon aur se tej nikal raha tha (there was some powerful light coming out from all over). The name Radhe disappeared and nothing else was visible. I had this anubhuti (experience) of some presence there, also in the Radhe name. I have never experienced anything like this before, my faith increased in the Presence of Thakurjee in this mandir”. “Then the child began to cry and we came back to normal”.

“Guruji had instructed us to be looking at one spot only. I looked ahead at the gate; you and guruji were visible. Suddenly in 5-10 minutes both of you disappeared. It all became hazy. There was someone else instead of you. Radha rani’s chavi instead of you was visible. It felt like Radharani in sada roop (plain attire) standing there. Behind both of you, there was Thakurjee’s chavi – Felt Radha and Krishn standing behind you both. The whole feeling, bhavana, I had was; as if I have come outside from my body; and am watching all from outside my body; as if I have left my body. This darshan I had for nearly 30 minutes”.
“Then the child started to cry”…

“Even now when I do my puja, dhyan, it comes back to me. If I close my eyes and I concentrate on guruji’s picture, I can see the whole vision. It all is very visible. I cannot forget it”.

This is known as Banshi Vat

In my jatra here with gurushree in 2005-June, it was a very significant day when I discovered the sacredness of this mandir.
This sacred mandir is located in the Banshi Vat area in Vrindavan.
It is a Siddh sthan and the original MahaRaas Sthali of Shree Krishn.
Banshi Vat is the place where foot prints of RadhaKrishn are worshipped. It is a beautiful place, where Sudhir bhai believes the highest Energies visit every night, and the Divine Play is there to be felt.
This particular place has the original charan (foot prints) of KrishnRadha, and the whole aura of the place feels magnetized. The owners are the current pujaris also, as this is a property handed to them through generations.
They are Govind, Upendra, Gajendra, Kaustubh.

As Gurushree Sudhir bhai needed to prove the presence of the Divine auras there, a lot of explaining was done to the four brothers who own the place. The main structure of the Charan mandir – “Jirnodhaar” is very worn out and needs urgent attention. To be able to convince the owners about our good intentions, some positive divine power has to be shown. The divinity of the place needs to be proved to the pujaris and to be able to do that required us all to be present here at night when the Divine Shaktis are in Play.

Finally on 11th June 2005, we were to witness and participate in some astonishing events. The Abhijit Nakshatra – 12.40-1.00 am is the main time period. Wearing the pure colour white, around 9.00 pm we start for the mandir. The pujaris who are also participating are all showered and ready. Our driver Mohan Singh and two of his friends come for the witnessing. The gate which opens in the main mandir is shut at night and no one is allowed inside. The KrishnRadha Shaktis present within the mandir are believed to come in the outer dimensions, and so need the whole place to Themselves. It is a strict rule no one can enter, as whenever some have tried to disobey things have gone wrong with them.
(When Sudhir bhai was told about this he jokingly said, ‘the space above is open, what if I enter from the top, how will you stop me’?). At that time all thought he was joking, but now would become a reality to them.

Gurushree and I sit with our backs to the main gate, which is shut. The rest of them sit before us and so can see the entrance of the gate. The entire area is cleared by me with a lot of dhoop and the dhun ‘RadheKrishn’ plays in the background. It is a calm and peaceful night. I am anxious, as I too do not know how the results would show up. During the course of our meditations, gurushree asked them to click some pictures with the digicam we had carried. I too clicked some from my side. The instruction to all of them is to be looking ahead. Eyes are to be kept open. Though we clicked pictures in between and were present with eyes open, it does not disturb the flow of experiences each one had. Once the entire meditation process is over all describe their experiences. (The pictures we saw only later at night)

This was one jatra where I went far away from the materialistic side of life. It has opened me up to another level of experience, including the deeper side of myself. Everything; something as simple as eating takes a sacred flavor as purity of mind, body, and soul is given the most importance.
This is a totally different way of life and is so absorbing and positive; to come back to the actual reality is not looked forward to. But each one has to find the right balance in the inner and outer and live life from the highest level of purity and positivism; overflowing with love and devotion for the Lord.
By the Grace of God and the Krupa of the higher energies, I find myself opening to a reality which is the truth I have to experience in this birth.
In the whole of Vrindavan jatra, I have this feeling of being some body else, not the personality Abha – I am changed in mind and soul and living as the ‘witness’, the energy which is the true consciousness.
The Sattvikta of this whole experience leaves me dazzled and I wait eagerly for Thakurjee’s kripa to provide me another opportunity, for entering deeper in this new level of divine experience.
My first interaction with Divine Live KrishnRadha Urjas, Shaktis, was in June 2005 when I visited Vrindavan Dham in the pure presence of my Gurushree, Shri Sudhir bhai. The actual yatra has been described in my recently published book; Zero 2 Dot.

This jatra has been organized by gurushree Sudhir bhai,
It is to reveal some spiritual mysteries and show me the reality of myself.
During this yatra I have visited about 8-10 important places, which gurushree explained were important for my understanding and purifications.

My experience of these alive spots is what I wish to describe here. This I believe is possible only as a kripa from my divine gurushree; and of course the total grace of KrishnRadha; and my Mahagurushree, ShreeNathji Himself.

For ‘The Presence’ to be experienced the atmosphere of purity and our bhao is very essential. When in the pure sanigdh (company) of a Sadhya guru who is a part of the Divine Himself – also known as the divya guru (very, very rare to find and understand in our world today); the strong pure aura which surrounds him also has the capacity and strength to cover the humans around him in the particular area. This at times can open their soul to some divine experiences, though otherwise they may not seem to be very religious. It is his soul quality then which connects the particular soul to the divya (divine) soul and graces it some divya anubhuties (divine experiences).

I take time to explain this here, as the happening which I am about to relate is very astonishing and amazing in the present impure time period with its gross vibration levels.
One of the strongest places with the Presence of Live KrishnRadha Urjas is in Vrindavan city itself. Luckily it is not too publicized, so has been able stay pure enough, unlike the other sthals which are converted more as tourist attractions.
